Veteran Advocacy Group LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Veterans Legacy Vault (“VLV”), including the Veterans Legacy Vault mobile application and related website and services.
Veterans Legacy Vault is designed to help veterans securely organize important personal, military, medical, financial, family, and legacy information. We recognize that this information may be sensitive, and protecting your privacy is important to us.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Account Information
When you create or use a Veterans Legacy Vault account, we may collect information such as your name, email address, authentication information, account preferences, and information necessary to operate and secure your account.
Information You Choose to Store
VLV allows users to voluntarily enter, organize, or upload information. Depending on the features you use, this may include:
• Military service history and records
• VA benefit and claim information
• Emergency information
• Medical information, medications, allergies, and provider information
• Financial, investment, expense, insurance, property, and asset information
• Important contacts
• Personal property and inventory information
• Documents and photographs
• Family and legacy information
• Final wishes and instructions
• Information associated with Trusted Family Member access
• Other information you choose to enter or upload
You control what information you choose to place in your Vault.
Support Information
If you contact us for assistance, we may collect your name, email address, device/platform information, message, and other information you voluntarily provide in connection with your support request.
2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use information to:
• Create, authenticate, and maintain user accounts
• Provide Veterans Legacy Vault features and services
• Store and display information users choose to place in their Vault
• Provide authorized Trusted Family Member access where enabled by the user
• Maintain the security and integrity of the service
• Provide technical and customer support
• Diagnose problems and improve app functionality
• Comply with applicable legal requirements
• Protect users, our services, and our rights from fraud, misuse, or security threats
We do not sell personal information stored in Veterans Legacy Vault.
3. TRUSTED FAMILY MEMBER ACCESS
Veterans Legacy Vault may allow a veteran to authorize a Trusted Family Member to access designated Vault information. Access is controlled through the VLV account and authorization system.
Users should only authorize individuals they trust to view their information.
4. SERVICE PROVIDERS AND DATA PROCESSING
We may use third-party service providers and infrastructure providers to operate Veterans Legacy Vault, including services used for authentication, secure database storage, file storage, hosting, and other technical functions.
For example, VLV uses Supabase infrastructure for certain authentication, database, and storage functions.
These providers process information only as necessary to provide services supporting VLV and are expected to maintain appropriate safeguards for the information they process.
We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the security, rights, or safety of our users, our services, or others.
5. DATA SECURITY
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or misuse.
Information transmitted between the application and supporting services is protected using secure communications technologies where applicable.
No electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should protect their login credentials and should not share their password with unauthorized individuals.
6. DATA RETENTION
We retain account information and user-provided Vault information for as long as necessary to provide Veterans Legacy Vault services, maintain the user's account, fulfill legitimate operational or security purposes, or comply with applicable legal obligations.
When an account is deleted, information associated with that account is deleted in accordance with our account-deletion process, except where information must be retained for legitimate legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or regulatory purposes.
7. ACCOUNT AND DATA DELETION
Veterans Legacy Vault users may initiate deletion of their account through the account/privacy controls provided within the VLV application.
Account deletion is intended to permanently remove the user's VLV account and associated user data maintained by us, subject to any information we are legally or legitimately required to retain.
Users may also contact Veterans Legacy Vault Support regarding privacy or data-deletion questions through the Support / Contact page on our website.
8. YOUR CHOICES AND CONTROL
Users control the information they choose to enter into Veterans Legacy Vault.
Where supported, users may update or remove information stored within their Vault and manage authorized family access.
Users may withdraw from using Veterans Legacy Vault by deleting their account. Users may also contact us regarding questions about their personal information or privacy rights.
9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Veterans Legacy Vault is not directed toward children under 13, and we do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13.
If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected contrary to applicable requirements, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. THIRD-PARTY LINKS
Veterans Legacy Vault may provide links to government agencies, veteran resources, benefit information, or other third-party websites and services.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, availability, or content of third-party websites or services. Users should review the privacy policies of those services separately.
11. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy as Veterans Legacy Vault develops, new features are introduced, or legal and regulatory requirements change.
When material changes are made, the updated policy will be posted with a revised effective date.
